"Money Saving Tips for the Angler"

Previous tips #02 ... They may be old but they're just as good!

We, at "E-Bait Express", know how important saving money is, in this day and age. We offer you these "tips" to help you spend your money more wisely, and then you can purchase MORE "Cabin Creek Baits". GOOD FISHIN'!

1. Buy yourself a good nail clipper, or better still a "Fishin' Buddy" from Cabin Creek Baits. Never… Ever… use your teeth to bite-off monofilament line; it could cost you $300 to $500 in dental bills for a chipped or cracked tooth.

2. Never lay your expensive rods and reels in the bed of your pickup truck, with or without a cap, unless you lay them on a foam pad or old blanket. Lay a blanket on top of them to hold them down and keep them from bouncing, and to keep off dust and dirt.

3. Never tow your boat with the depthfinder in the bracket. The vibration and bouncing it will receive on the highway is much greater than that on the water. This constant shaking will ruin your electronics.

4. To waterproof your maps, buy an aerosol can of flat polyurethane finish at your local hardware or department store. Lay the map out flat and spray two coats on each side, allowing the poly to dry completely between coats.

5. Cut out the fishing regulations, seasons listing, and size limit chart from your state regulation book they gave you with your fishing licenses. Laminate them between two sheets of clear, self sticking shelf paper, and keep them in your boat or tackle box for quick reference.

6. Keep a small bottle of vanilla extract in your tackle box. When you get foul odors on your hands, like gasoline or oil, rub a couple of drops on your hands to keep your lures and bait smelling great. It will also make your lunch taste better after a day of handling bait and/or fish.

7. If you don't have a computer, have a friend printout a few mailing labels with your name, address and phone number on them. Affix a label to all of your tackle boxes and gear bags. Now, the next time you leave something in a tournament partners boat, or sitting on the dock, someone will know how to get in touch with you.

8. WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET! It could save your family LOTS of money!
