Jack Boettner
Harrisburg, PA
Jack Boettner has been fishing almost as long as there has been water. He grew up with a rod and reel in his hand, and that is how things are still today. He now lives on the shores of the Susquehanna River, a mere stroll from his front porch to one of the most productive "Big Fish" areas of the river. Jack can be seen on the river, just about every day, and his knowledge and abilities on the Susquehanna are without question... the BEST.
Jack has fished most of the important tournament trails, including B.A.S.S., Redman, Bassin' Buddy, ABF and the Pennsylvania Federation Trail. He still fishes many local and regional tournaments each year, and he and his partner won the prestigious "Bassin' Buddy Classic" in 2000, during a "tougher than normal" day on Conowingo Lake.
Jack now operates "Good Times Fishin' Guide Service" with his son Jay, and works with the staff at Hall's Marine South, designing and building custom "Fishin' Machines" for area guides and customers. When not in the shop, he is on the river, locating fish for guide service clients and the other guides that work with him and Jay.
A day on the river with Jack Boettner is an education in more ways than one. Like most men from his generation, he has a long list of tall tales and fishing adventures tucked away under that ole gray hair. If you will take the time to inquire and listen to some of those stories, you will be educated, enlightened and entertained all at the same time.
We are proud to have Jack Boettner as a member of our "Pro Staff". The addition of his knowledge and know-how to this site will benefit us all. We look forward to reading his words of wisdom and his sharing of the knowledge that has made Jack one of the true "Legends" on the Susquehanna River... and fishin' in general.
