Chuck King

Baltimore, MD

A world traveler at a young age, Chuck was born in 1958 in a military hospital in Newbrucke, West Germany. His father was an Army officer, and was transferred back to the United States in early 1959. He's the oldest of four children with a brother in Mississippi, a sister in Frederick, Maryland, and a brother in South Carolina. Chuck resides in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife Teresa, and their two daughters Rachel and Nicole.

From an early age, Chuck loved the outdoors, learned to appreciate and respect it through the Cub Scouts and then Boy Scouts of America. This love for nature only became stronger when his father was transferred to Alaska in 1970. The wilderness was suddenly in his back yard. On many occasions there would be moose grazing in the backyard. When not in school he spent the winter months on the ski slope. The warmer months were spent at the local fishing hole, "Ships Creek" which was less than a quarter mile from the back door of his house. There he and his friends would catch all the trout and salmon they could handle. Occasionally they'd even have to share the waters with the local moose and brown bear, but that never seemed to be a problem.

The summer of 1973 started off as being very depressing for Chuck, as the family was transferred again, this time to Maryland! "I never wanted to leave Alaska! It's perfect" he told others. Soon the pains started to heal after meeting new friends, starting in a new school, and other outdoor activities. "I almost died the first time I went to eat Maryland Crabs." " I had King Crabs legs many times before in Alaska, and the legs were sometimes 18" long each." "I went out and was given some 8" total length wonder on my plate, and thought it was a joke!" "Adjusting to Maryland did certainly take some time."

After school, Chuck served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne as a Military Policeman. Once finished with his military tour he served in various security and law enforcement agencies at the federal, state, and local levels. Looking for a change, he became involved as a volunteer fire fighter while going back to college. Two years later he accepted a job with the Howard County Department of Fire & Rescue Services located in the Baltimore and Washington corridor. He's currently a Fire Lieutenant & Paramedic and works primarily as one of the Medical Duty Officers protecting 252 square miles, and roughly 250,000 people.

With time on his hands, the 1990's found Chuck looking back at one of his passions, and fishing came full circle. "It was a natural hobby to return to as it took my mind off the horrors of the job." In 1995 he joined a local bass club "Hawg Wild Bassmasters" and bought his first bassboat. He spent a few years learning the ropes, and in 1997 became the club treasurer and was soon elected "Vice President" of the club. He's fished in club, regional, charity, and Maryland B.A.S.S. Federation Tournaments. Over the last few years he's fished the Paralyzed Veterans of America tournament on the Potomac River and states he enjoys it more every year. "I don't know how to explain the pride, and honor you feel in giving something back to the veterans who've given up so much of themselves for us."

Chuck purchased his Triton TR21PDC boat from Hall's Marine of Muncy, Pennsylvania in 1999, and after being so pleased asked to help promote the boat. You'll see him working the shows, providing demo rides to Maryland customers, and giving assistance wherever needed. He's currently sponsored by Triton Boats and Mercury Marine. Chuck has been an important and contibuting asset to the "E-Bait Express Pro Staff" and we are proud to have him aboard.
